General information and requirements
This type of permit is valid for 1 year and can be renewed on an annual basis. Under this permit, a person is allowed to live in Cyprus on a temporary basis and also bring his close family members to live with him/her.
It is important to note that if the holder of a Temporary Residence Permit stays outside the Republic of Cyprus for a period of more than 3 months, then such permit is automatically cancelled and the permit holder will need to apply again.
Income of the applicant
In order to be eligible for this type of permit, the applicant will need to show that he/she has adequate income from abroad to cover his/her living expenses (minimum amount for each person is €8.000) whilst residing in Cyprus without the need to work in Cyprus Republic.
Accommodation
The applicant will need to prove that he/she has suitable accommodation. It is possible for non-EU nationals to either rent or own property in Cyprus.
Bank Guarantee
The applicant must provide an original bank guarantee, issued by a Bank in Cyprus and valid for a period of one year to cover potential costs of repatriation.
Health Insurance
The applicant must have an insurance that covers basic medical needs and repatriation costs in Cyprus.
Marriage Certificate
Applicants that are married must provide a marriage certificate which must be submitted with an official translation in Greek or English language and must be duly certified.
Bank deposit
The applicant must open a bank account in Cyprus showing that he/she has available funds to be used in the Republic.
